Steve Garcher was appointed to the SWCD Board of Directors in Late 2024. 

Mr. Garcher has lived in Dolores County his entire life. His family came to Colorado in 1900 and then moved to Dove Creek in 1921 to the family farm that is currently growing the fifth generation of Garchers. He and his wife have two adult children and six grandchildren. He worked in the oil and natural gas fields for 37 years and was a Dolores County Commissioner for two terms. He also served on the Dolores County Planning Commission for over 20 years and is a past fair board member. 

Currently, Mr. Garcher serves on the B.LM. Resource Advisory Council R.A.C as vice chairman.
